There may be times when you will need someone else to take care of your bird. It is important to consider that a friend or neighbor may not notice the warning signs of a serious illness. Immediate and appropriate action can avoid serious illness. Your bird’s health depends on the care of individuals who know what to do. The staff at Fur & Feathers have years of experience working with all different types of birds. There are many reasons bird owners are unable to care for their pets. The primary reason is travel. Because birds have delicate systems, it is sometimes necessary to remove the bird from home for reasons such as remodeling, painting, fleas spraying, carpet cleaning, furnace failure, etc. The Fur and Feathers Aviary was designed with birds in mind. Our separate climate controlled sanctuary is furnished with 15 individual bird units which will accommodate from cockatiel to macaw. Our avian play area is also available to allow for one on one interaction or playtime if desired. So that the transition of your friend to their new home away from home goes smoothly, we ask that you bring his/her favorite toys, food and food dishes. The food supplied should be sufficient to last the duration of their stay with us. We also request that each bird have proof of a thorough examination from an avian veterinarian in the last twelve months. Please bring a carrier for your pet, as well.Boarding Rates per Night: We also provide: Bottled water, Hepa filter, Night lights, Cage paper, Refrigerator for perishable foods, perches, Gram scale for regular weight checks. |
